Universal Display and PPG Industries, Inc., (PPG: NYSE) of Pittsburgh, PA, partnered in October 2000 to develop and commercialize these proprietary PHOLED materials. PPG is a leading manufacturer of coatings, chemicals, specialty materials and glass with worldwide sales of over $15.8 billion in 2008.

Through its Specialty Synthesis Group (SSG) within the Optical Products Division, a dedicated team of PPG scientists and engineers produce these proprietary PHOLED materials for sale by Universal Display to its OLED manufacturing licensees and other customers.
